Our week in a nutshell

Haven't posted in almost a week...oops. Not a very good week anyways. This is what we have been up to:

Max was fighting a cold, nothing serious but a runny nose and a bit of a cough.

Sam also with a cold, runny nose and nasally voice.

Me fighting a cold, not really getting it, but instead ending up with a blocked duct (heading towards mastitis). Feeling like I've been run over by a truck. Only just feeling human today.

And that's about it! Hardly any photos have been taken. Will have to pull the camera out tomorrow.

Max has been sleeping like a champion though....which I'm very grateful for! Sam's day care mum, Ali, let us know that they are moving down to Sydney which is a HUGE bummer. She doesn't know if it will be mid year or end of the year, but she's aiming for mid year. I think that has pretty much made my decision about quitting uni as there is no way I'll get into another day care by July. It's just such a shame as Sam was so happy there, and I was really enjoying having some one on one time with Max.

Anyway, got friends coming tonight from NZ, so best get moving.

Quick catch up

Cos I want to watch Grey's Anatomy!!

Haven't posted for a few days, but haven't done too much.

Had Harper for the day on Friday as poor Esther had mastitis (after battling d's and v's with both her and Harper for the week). Took H to a new indoor playground that's opened up near us. Was great! Then we came home, she had some lunch and slept for a few hours then woke up in time for Sam to come home!

Saturday, Clydey took Sam to his swimming lesson which was apparently a disaster. Nothing new there, our poor little sensitive soul isn't too fond to getting his head wet! I cleaned the house, did some washing etc while they were gone.

Today we lazed around, then went for a walk, then Sambo got his hair cut. Not sure what it's like yet, as it was still all straight. Make my decision tomorrow! At least it should look neater!

And that's about it. Just a few photos from the last few days and some ones I took out at Megan's while I was at mum and dad's.

ps, my rainbow photo didn't get me in...maybe next month!!

Just cos I can

Gosh I love this little guy. How cute is he?

Just more practice in manual mode.

Manual - eeeeekkkk!

So I finally got the courage to switch my camera over and start shooting manually. Didn't go as horrendously as expected. Not too bad in fact. But I still have so much to learn. Am considering take a BIG break from my accounting studies, and doing this 2 yr PT TAFE course instead for now. I can always go back to Accounting later. Just not sure how I'll cope with that disappointed/disapproving voice down the phone from mum (you know it will be there, Meggie!!) when I tell her. But this is really what I want to do, and I really think I can be good at it.

How nice would it be to wake up in the morning and look forward to going to work?

Anyway, the boys are in bed, and I want to do some scrapbooking. Have decided to enter the For Keeps Excellence Awards, and have to start thinking about some wonderful pages for it. Have a few ideas running around, it's the execution that is the hard part!! Have to post off my LO today for publication, plus I need to post out the cd of photos to Nickers for her and Brenda. Also have a present to send off to Brenda Rooks....only had that here for weeks! Might have to get some photos developed to start me off on some scrapping too, although could probably just do that tomorrow while Sam's in day care.

So, here are my favourites photos of my first attempts at manual. Not TOO bad, huh?

Dare I Say It?

But my perfectly sleepy boy might be back? Yet again, Max slept wonderfully today...which gave me time to clean the house (Sam was at day care), plus do a few chores, and also just RELAX!!! I had forgotten what it was like to actually have time to get stuff done. I even cleaned out my craft cupboard. Go me.

No news today, just a quick photo of my littlest man. Just take a look at him, will ya? Isn't he just the cutest? I keep teasing Clydey that we have to have more kids, cos we make them so darn adorable! He almost chokes every time I say it!!

Spoke to Wade today about setting up a logo and all the stuff I have to think about. We are going to try to catch up soon to discuss some stuff. He's the man to know when starting a business, me thinks!!

Oh, Happy Birthday Deany...hope you got our text message! Have a great day, and we'll talk soon.

Sleep Begets Sleep

I've always said it and I totally believe it! Max had a great night last night - only woke about 3am for a feed, then back down until about 6am this morning. I fed him, then gave him to Clydey so I could get another half hour of sleep (Sam woke up about 1.30am and I went in and lay down with him for half an hour or so). Anyway, Clydey brings Max back in about 6.45am for me, just in time to put him down to sleep. He slept until about 10.15am!! YAY for Max! He stirred once or twice so I just patted his bum and shoved the dummy back in his mouth and he settled back down. Then he was up for an hour and then back down for 2 more hours! It was bliss.... Of course I didn't get any cleaning or anything done, but it was nice just to have some "Fo" time!!

I'm trying to get myself entry into this flickr group - it's called So You Want to Be a Professional Photographer. They have a lottery each month, with a theme and you take a photo around that theme and they pick 3-4 photos and those people get allowed into the group. You just get heaps of advice, tips, tricks, and templates/photoshop actions etc. I have just found this group and this is my first month of trying in the lottery. The theme is Rainbow. I had all these ideas (many of which, others had the same!!) but decided that I should try and get Sam to put on some rainbow toe socks, and write "SYWBPP" (So you want to be a pro etc) on the mirror of his room, and get him to look into the mirror, and take the photo from behind him - so I get him plus his reflection, if you get what I mean? Anyway, I got it all set up, got Sam dressed....and the damn kid threw the biggest wobbly because I wouldn't draw a mower on the mirror for him! I kept saying, "No, mummy had done her drawing, it's your turn" (yep, was even willing to let him draw on the mirror!). Anyway, it just got worse and worse. He was screaming and crying, and running away from me every time I tried to get a photo of him. I got a few...but most are out of focus. Didn't help that I was pissing myself laughing while trying to chase him around the house! It ended up getting a bit out of hand, so I had to put him to bed. These are the photos that I ended up with....makes me laugh just looking at them. What do you think? We got a shot at it? Nah, I didn't think so either, but doubt I'll get time to do more, so this will have to be it for this month. Maybe next month.

Next lot of good news - have had a scrapbooking page of mine accepted for publication by For Keeps Magazine. This will be my third page accepted so far. Bit excited guys (as Sam would say!).

Ok, that's it for now. Am almost finished a scrap page now so will take a photo of it and post it later. Here's the rainbow photos for now!

For Cas

Max

Just for you, Cas. She keeps asking me where are photos of them. So here you go my dear, we miss you too!

Another nothing day today...so what's new? Clydey made us pancakes, bacon, cream and syrup for breakkie today...yummo! Watched Charlotte's Web and bawled my eyes out! Sambo didn't sleep, so we popped over to Nat's place for a cuppa then dropped her into the Valley. When we got home Laura was here - she's doing some training with CBA in the city and needed somewhere to keep her car for the week. Sambo followed her around like a little puppy!

Speaking of Sambo, he's the cheekiest little thing. Clydey took him and the dog for a walk today (which I edited some photos, will post some tomorrow). Kya found this stinky water somewhere (like she always does!) and went for a swim. When they get home, Kya tried to come inside so this is what happened:

Me: "No, Kya, outside. Kya, OUTSIDE, now".
(Kya meekly walks back outside)
Sam comes in from outside and looks at me seriously
Sam: Don't say OUTSIDE Mummy, you say Please Kya, can you go outside???

Hmmmmm...me thinks that I've been pushing the whole "talk nicely please" thing with Sam lately! At least he makes me think twice about how I speak! He won't let me moan or get angry with Clydey at all. Now I can't even yell at the dog!

Tomorrow I really need to take my photos with the Rainbow theme. Hopefully Sam will play the game with me - wish me luck! I am hoping to get him to dress up in some rainbow socks and take a photo of him in his room while he's looking in the mirror or something????

Oh, and yes, Sam is getting a hair cut next week!
